This version looks great as well, but for me, I found the last version more intersting, even though it was much less renderd. Then again thats just my prefrence for this page, both of your versions are technically well done, and just as valid as each other
i actually like this better (its more finished ofcourse). but if you want to a sharper look try using the Quick mask tool, or just apply the sharpen filter. still, i like this stuff
